Mommy Interruption

Monday, April 26

Monday morning! Early.

I could have easily skipped today's workout. The baby was up at 3 a.m., and I had to rock him (in the chair not with music) for a bit. Laura Morgan sent us an e-mail last night inviting us to dress up for 60s day this morning. Somehow I didn't want to scare everyone with my half shirt and tube socks, so I have decided to dress in normal attire for boot camp this morning.

Tomorrow is the last day of Jenny Craig food that was provided for me. I loved having all the meals portioned in perfect portion control boxes.

Wednesday, April 28

My perfect attendance has been spoiled. I turned off my 5 a.m. alarm and said to myself, just two more minutes. The next time I looked at my clock, it was 5:50. I would never be there at a reasonable time. I still got a great workout in this morning though. I do have very good excuse why I turned the alarm off this morning. I was awakened just an hour bf the alarm went off, at 4 a.m., “Mommy, mommy, I have to go potty.” Repeat, at least two times before I heard him and then finally got to him. After that, it was, “Mommy, I am hungry.”

Hmmm … he never does this. What is going on? I thought back to nine hours before when he had his last meal. Yes, I guess he would be hungry. Bedtime is normally between 7 and 7:30 p.m. in our household. He had had a t-ball game and we were home late. The choices for dinner were chicken nuggets or a bowl of cereal. He chose the latter. Then it was off to bed! Back to 4:05 a.m. I told him he could have a banana. He wanted a pear. “No, if you are hungry, you can have a banana, or in back to bed.”

Yes, it is the middle of the night. Ok, he would have a banana. Thankfully after that he did go right back to bed. I did promise (bribe) him waffles in the morning.

But that is the real reason I so easily turned off the alarm this morning.

Sunday, May 2

I have reached the half way point in the boot camp. I really enjoy it except that I have to get up so early in the morning. I had a busy weekend with a lot of social time. Trying to diet and go to a parties is not easy. Friday night I helped a good friend celebrate a birthday and Saturday I attended a Derby Party by another close friend. Friday it was a sour cream and ice cream cake feast. On Saturday the Derby Pie begged me to taste it. It was good, too. I need to get back on track again. I took the weekend off. I will do better next weekend.
