Celebrate the Fourth of July with a couple of easy craft projects. Here are a couple of easy crafts to do with little ones.
Star Wavers

Materials
- Red, white and blue construction paper
- Wooden dowel or popsicle stick
- Scissors
- Ribbon
- Glue
Instructions
Cut a pair of stars from red, white or blue paper.
Cut a slightly smaller pair from a different color and an even smaller pair from the third color. I actually thought it was easier to start with the smaller star and trace them to get the larger stars. I did my first set of stars free hand and then found a cookie cutter to trace for the second set.
Glue the stars together and then glue the two large stars together with the wooden dowel or popsicle stick in-between them.
Tie a ribbon around the dowel or stick. I added bells to the end of the ribbon.
Note: Young kids can help with the glue. They can also decorate the stars with markers or stickers.

Instructions
Cut a 4.5 by 4 inch blue craft foam rectangle.
Cut/punch 4 evenly spaced holes on one of the long sides of the rectangle and 7 on the other end.Paint/stamp or stick stars on blue rectangle. I used star confetti.
Using decorative scissors, cut out 7 red craft foam strips (three ½ by 8 inches, four ½ by 3.5 inches).
Cut out 6 white craft foam strips (three ½ by 8 inches and three ½ by 3.5 inches).
Cut/punch holes in both ends of all strips and thread paper clips through all the holes. Attach the 7 short strips to the bottom of the blue rectangle.
Thread 4 paper clips through the holes at the top of the blue rectangle.Form the flag by sliding all the pieces onto the wooden skewer. Attach a piece of ribbon or wire to the ends of the skewer.
Attach a bell to the paper clips at the bottom of the strips.
Note: I miscounted my strips, so don’t count them in the picture. Sorry!
