The Get Fit Challenge begins

Lowcountry Child would like to congratulate Dana Zendzian, a Bluffton mother of three, for winning the Get Fit Challenge. Like most moms, Dana has struggled with finding time for herself to workout and to eat right. We were inspired by Dana's conviction and strength to open herself up to the public. We wish you luck and support, Dana, on your journey to good health.

Current Weight: 180
Desired Weight: 145-150

Here is her first blog:

My heart has already begun to beat faster. I am almost sweating. What have I signed up for? I haven't even gotten off the couch yet but I already have butterflies about the commitment I have just won. Now I have to be responsible and diligent about exercising and being mindful of what I put in my mouth. I already know what my bigger challenge is. Mindless eating. I am sure there will be more to follow later on that.

I would like to thank Heather Bragg of Lowcountry Child for this opportunity. She has put together a tough challenge for any person, let alone for a mom of three, ages 6 ½, 4 and 20 months and a wife to a very hardworking and supportive husband . I want to seize this chance and have an open mind to be able to change some habits starting in the next week. I would also like to thank, Laura Morgan from Lo.Co (Lowcountry Boot camp). We talked briefly last week and she told me how much I will love it! I have seen Lo.Co Boot camp in the Lowcountry Presbyterian Church parking lot while taking my son to Christian Heritage Montessori.

I have to say, it really does look fun. I have wanted to try it. This is my chance. On Monday I will call Jenny Craig for more support.

Please say a little prayer for me that I don't sleep through my alarm Monday morning @ 5:10 AM. Make it a BIG prayer!
