Spooktacular Halloween Events

There’s plenty of spook-tacular fun around the Lowcountry this Halloween. Here are some local events:

 

Haunted Library

Enchanted Forest and Haunted Trail

When/Where: Oct. 21-22, Coastal Discovery Museum, 70 Honey Horn Drive, Hilton Head Island.
Info: Presented by Hilton Head Island Noon Lions Club to benefit the Lions Tail at Honey Horn and Lions services for the blind and vision-impaired. A non-scary Enchanted Forest Party for ages 3-6: 5-7 p.m., $5 with costume; $7 with no costume; Haunted Trail for ages 7-10: 7-8:30 p.m.; open to ages 10 and older: 8:30-11 p.m., $10 in costume, $12 if not.

Second annual South Carolina Scarecrow Walkabout

When/Where: 12:30-3 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Sea Pines Forest Preserve Fish Island, Hilton Head Island.

Habersham Marketplace's third annual Habersham Harvest Festival

Ghost Tours

When/Where: Times vary, Oct. 14, 15, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29 and 30, Beaufort

Info: Carriage ride or walking tours through Beaufort's historic district. Storytellers tell haunting tales of the area. Proceeds benefit Child Abuse Prevention Association sponsored by The Exchange Club.

Haunted Trail & Enchanted Forest

When/Where: 5-11 p.m., Oct. 21-22, Honey Horn Plantation, Hilton Head Island
Info: This event, sponsored by the Hilton Head Noon Lions Club, has something for everyone, including children, teens and adults. The little ones, ages 3-7, will enjoy the Enchanted Forest. They are encouraged to wear costumes to the forest. For the older ones, there will be a scary Halloween Trail.

SMPA Exhibition, Haunted Wagon Ride

When/Where: 12:30-3 p.m., Oct. 22, Sea Pines Forest Preserve
Info: Exhibition of scarecrows and folk art South Carolina-style created by Sea Pines Montessori Academy students as visitors walk through the Forest Preserve on a trail from Fish Island to the Indian Shell Ring. SPMA’s boosters will also host a haunted wagon ride at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. Oct. 28-29.
