Scrapbooking 101

I have been scrapbooking for close to 10 years. I don’t claim to be an expert nor do I do anything “fancy.” I dedicate my free time to it a few times a year. After that I always say that I will keep it up, but I never do. I recently had a friend tell me she would like me to tell her how to scrapbook. I never realized that people needed to be taught to scrapbook. So it gave me an idea for this post. First to get started you need to get some supplies. I have collect numerous supplies over the years, but here are the main ones that I use.

Toddler activities in the kitchen

There's one room in the house that consistently mystifies and amazes small children. The kitchen. To these knee-high toddlers, there are drawers and cabinets that open and shut, shiny bowls and utensils, running water and sometimes steam emanating from the stove-top. It's also a place where toddlers can have the most ... fun (you thought I'd say 'dangerous,' didn't you?). Here are some easy activities from “The Toddler's Busy Book” by Trish Kuffner that can calm a crazed child using items you probably already have:

Independence Day craft projects

Celebrate the Fourth of July with a couple of easy craft projects. Here are a couple of easy crafts to do with little ones.

Sock bunnies

This is a very easy Easter craft. You should be able to find most of the materials around the house. If you have any mismatched socks lying around, this is a great way to use them. I didn’t have any, so I bought some socks at the dollar store. This craft was a little too advanced for my 2 year old to help with, but he loves playing with them.

Click-and-print crafts!

Who am I?

Does your little one like animals? You've come to the right place. Match drawings of the animals to the corresponding words. This puzzle is suitable for children just learning to read and this one is a little more challenging.
