A former preschool teacher and nanny have recently opened a new childcare facility in Bluffton, and they are taking applications for new families. T'Lene Sanders and her daughter, Sarah Sanders, opened Little Sprouts Christian Childcare Center located in Sheridan Commons near Jim 'N Nicks Barbecue.
Parents and children are invited to a grand opening celebration at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13. The event will include appetizers and an opportunity for children to get to know the facility.
The mother-and-daughter duo have extensive experience in child care and education. T'Lene Sanders, a Lowcountry native and mother of three, was a preschool teacher for 10 years before she became Deputy Clerk of Court for the Town of Ridgeland. Sarah Sanders is certified in Infant and Toddler Care and obtained her Certificate in Early Childhood Development. She has 12 years of experience as a nanny for local families.
Opening a quality, faith-based childcare center in the Lowcountry was the Sanders' dream.
"We are proud of the fact that we are a small center that provides personal care," said T'Lene Sanders, the childcare center's owner. "We have taken great care to create a loving, nurturing, learning environment that’s the next best thing to the warmth of home."
The school boasts classrooms specially designed for specific age groups with age-appropriate equipment. In addition to a secure, outdoor playground with climbing structures, swings and sandbox, the school offers parent fingerprint security entrance.
Little Sprouts provides care for children ages 6 weeks through 4 years. They offer a faith-based curriculum that also includes music, arts and crafts, writing readiness, math readiness, health and safety, gross motor skills, and fine motor skills.
