When/Where: Little Karma Kids (ages 2-5), from 10 a.m. to noon; Karma Kids Session 1 (ages 6-12), from 1-4 p.m. June 25-June 29; Karma Kids Session 2, from 1-4 p.m. (ages 6-12) July 9-13 at Dancing Dogs Yoga in Beaufort; from 1-4 p.m. July 23-27 at Dancing Dogs Yoga in Bluffton.
Info: Children will strengthen their sense of confidence, focus, breath, creativity, physical awareness and appreciation of themselves as individuals and as members of the community. Children learn to express themselves through yoga, movement, music, art and nature.
Yoga awakens the children's creativity and intrinsic love of exploring their bodies inspired by animals and the natural world. Each day there is a theme or focus that threads through all of the activities, inspired by the yogic intention of breathing, focusing, creativity, peace, and awareness.
A typical day at Karma Kids Yoga Camp includes:
- Circle Time & Yoga class
- Pose of the day (e.g. down dog or wheel)
- Craft activity (eye pillows, mandalas, malas etc…)
- Healthy Snacks and discussion mindful eating
- Yoga Games & songs
- Closing Circle, relaxation & Savasana
What they will learn:
- Yoga asanas (poses)
- Yoga games
- Mindfulness and self-calming techniques
- Breathing practices
- Fun songs
Cost: Little Karma Kids, $100 for the first child; $60 for additional child; Karma Kids Session 1, $125 for the first child, $75 each additional sibling; Karma Kids Session 2, $125 for the first child, $75 for each sibling
