CONVENTIONS! CONVENTIONS!
Hi Y'all!
Coming up in March are TWO Homeschool Conventions near us. One difference in vendor that I was told about is that Great Homeschool Convention will NOT have Ken Ham of Answers in Genesis. So if this is a curriculum you use, please do look into that so it is not a wasted trip. Below I have posted helpful information about both conventions to help you determine which to attend.
"Lisa" attended the Great Homeschool Convention and she shared with us her child (3 years at the time) did well in a stroller with toys and snacks while she strolled through the vendor's "emporium" of curricula! Her child did fine but her older child she registered with the children's program. I hope this will help you to determine if you'd like your child(ren) to participate with a conventions kid's program.
"Dawn" another fellow homeschooler in the Lowcountry shared how she got a great deal at a convention for her curriculum. However, she warns to double check pricing online before you buy a deal you think is great.
Attending a convention is an outlet for an array of helpful information from teaching to picking out curricula. They'll have a medley of speaking sessions to select from, plus you'll also get to meet the authors of the curriculum (most times). Attending a convention also gives you an upclose comparison of curricula rather than buying something and figuring it doesn't work and wasting money.
Happy Homeschoolin' Y'all!
