Holiday Hours at The Sandbox

When/Where: Located on the south end of Hilton Head Island off of Pope Avenue. The Sandbox, An Interactive Children’s Museum, has special Holiday hours. The museum will be open Monday through Saturday, December 19-31 and close early at 2:00 p.m. on December 24th and December 31st. Museum’s regular hours during the Winter season are Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 am-5 pm.
Info: Come out and enjoy the Holiday fun at The Sandbox. Pottery classes will be held on December 17, 20, and 24 at 9:30 a.m. Christmas stories with Santa will be December 21st and 22nd at 10:30 a.m. There will be special holiday crafts all week long.

New Year's Eve Island Style

When/Where: 7 p.m. - 1 a.m. Dec. 31 at The Crowne Plaza Resort Hilton Head
Info: Come have a great time and enjoy The Crowne Plaza’s New Year’s Eve Dining Extravaganza; live music by Trey’s Alien; open bar all night; Silent Auction items; and a Champagne Toast and Balloon Drop at Midnight! A separate on-site Kids’ New Year’s Eve Party is also available for children ages 3-12 from 7:00 pm until 12:30 am. Cost is $25 per child and includes dinner along with their own New Year’s Eve celebration! Parents must attend the “Celebrate Island Style” – New Year’s Eve Celebration for their children to participate. Space is limited, so call The Sandbox to make your reservation.
Cost: Tickets are $85 per person, $165 per couple or reserve a table for eight at $640 or a table for 10 at $800. Special room rates are available at the Crowne Plaza for New Year’s Eve event attendees.

New Year's Eve Party

When/Where: From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 31at The Sandbox Children's Museum on Hilton Head
Info: Want to celebrate the New Year without staying up to midnight? Then ring in 2011 with your family at The Sandbox! The museum is hosting a “Noon” Year’s Eve party at their 18-A Pope Avenue location. Festivities include special games and activities both indoors and outdoors. In addition to scavenger hunts and games, fun arts & crafts and a pasta lunch, attendees will ring in 2011 with party favors and a balloon drop at 12 noon. Outside fun includes our popular Sandbox sandcastle bounce house and playing in the SNOW!
Cost: Ticket prices are $10 for adult children (children under 2 are free), Sandbox members $8 each and under 2 are free. Fee includes admission to the museum, all activities and lunch. Hilton Head Snow Day

When/Where: Jan 28th, 11am-4pm. Shelter Cove Park, Shelter Cove Ln, Hilton Head.
Info: Snowfield and inflatable rides. Lawn chairs encouraged!

“The Drowsy Chaperone”

Info: “The Drowsy Chaperone” is the show Variety said “emits enough intoxicating charm for just about anyone to get drunk on.” Inventive, fast-paced and delirious, “Chaperone” is a hilarious show-within-a-show about a Broadway fanatic in love with a 1928 smash hit called “The Drowsy Chaperone.” As he plays the cast album, the show magically bursts to life, and audiences are instantly immersed in the hilarious tale of a celebrity bride and her uproarious wedding day. Nominated for 13 Tony Awards, and winner of six, “Chaperone” is a modern Broadway classic.
