Bluffton Blood Drive Under Way

The Blood Alliance (TBA), enriching lives since 1942, proudly announces that the Bluffton local fire and police departments will go head to head in a friendly "Boots vs Badges" blood drive on Monday, June 25, from 11am - 5 pm, at Station 300, located in Buckwalter Place.

Anyone who donates blood will have the opportunity to "vote" for their favorite department. The winning department will be treated to a pizza party hosted by The Blood Alliance and will have bragging rights for the year.

There is a critical need for blood donations, especially during this time of year. The men and women from our fire and police departments put their lives on the line every day; the least we can do is to donate blood in their honor.

The Blood Alliance is the sole provider of blood to all Beaufort County hospitals. Our neighbors and friends are the ones benefiting from our donations. This makes the donation a more personal decision that is much closer to home.

Donors must be at least 17 years of age, in good health, weigh 110 pounds or more and have eaten a good meal and plenty of healthy fluids within four hours of donating. Prior to donation, a free mini physical is conducted that includes a check of blood pressure, temperature and iron levels.

To make an appointment to donate visit our website at: www.igiveblood.com, use our free iPhone and Droid app at: “iDon8” or call The Blood Alliance at: 888-99-TBA HERO (888.998.2243).
